Prepare your application

The altREU is different—and so is the application process. We’re not asking for your resume, your transcripts, and for a bunch of essays. You feel this is too much work or you feel too shy? Step outside of your comfort zone for a few minutes and try it anyway. You may surprise yourself—and us!

  1. The application form will ask you for:
    1. Your name.
    2. Your e-mail address.
    3. Confirm that you are 18 or older.
    4. Your Github (if available).
    5. Your LinkedIn profile or your personal website (if available).
    6. The current school you are enrolled in as an undergraduate student.
    7. The name(s) and e-mail address(es) of the friend(s) who will apply with you.
  2. Prepare a short video or audio clip (100 MB upload limit) that provides answers to the following prompts:
    1. To what extent do you personally care about doing well in this program?
    2. What specifically excites you about working on a team with your friend(s)?
    3. How will participating in this program be useful to you in the future?
    4. Talk about one specific challenge you foresee in participating in this program.
    5. What will be your strategy to make sure you dedicate enough time and effort to your team?
    6. Do you already have a project or problem in mind that would benefit society? If so, provide a brief pitch of your vision.
    7. Why should we admit you and your team members?
  3. Note: We want to see your own appearance and hear your own voice. Do not use any AI tools to clone your voice or appearance, or use text to speech tools. Keep things real and raw please.
