Students of the NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) on “Computational Modeling Serving Portland,” the altREU program to “Design, Program, and Use Computers to Benefit Society,” and teuscher.:Lab interns edited and published a 300-page book on their summer research projects. The book publishing project was entirely led by the interns. Applications for the new Diverse Internships for Semiconductor Careers (DISC) program are now open.
DISC is a National Science Foundation-funded, paid internship experience for undergraduate students. The program provides monthly stipends (9 months; total amount $10,750) for part-time work (10-12 hrs/week) and participation in professional development training and mentoring activities (~30 total hours). DISC participants will conduct research and development work with our partners in the local semiconductor-microelectronics industry. DISC will match interns with one of our local industrial partners: Intel, Siemens, Moses Lake Industries, ams-OSRAM, and Andes Technology.
